As an initiative rooted in cultural solidarity, ZAD for Arts believes that advancing performing arts requires collaboration and partnership among cultural actors. Guided by this principle, ZAD for Arts has established partnerships with two of Jordan’s leading cultural spaces: Al Balad Theater and Al Shams Theater. Through these partnerships, ZAD for Arts contributes to building a collaborative cultural ecosystem that creates opportunities for artists to grow and expands the reach of independent cultural institutions.

Since its founding in 2005, Al Balad Theater has become a vital independent space for theater performances, music, and cultural projects. It provides a creative environment for both artists and audiences, and hosts prominent festivals such as Al Balad Music Festival, Baladk Urban Arts Festival, and Hakaya Festival, in addition to performances, training programs, and spaces for artistic production.

The theater plays an essential role in supporting emerging artists and fostering artistic exchange, contributing to the growth of both the local and regional cultural scenes. Through its diverse programming, it strengthens the connection between art, community, and the urban experience, creating a vibrant space for dialogue and creativity.

Al Shams Theater is a cultural space founded in 2017, following the renovation of the historic Concord Cinema. It serves as an open platform for performance in all its forms, bringing together local, Arab, and international artists. As the only repertoire theater in Jordan, it offers a dynamic program that fosters creativity, learning, and access to the arts.

With a strong belief in the power of youth and women to drive cultural change, Al Shams is proudly led by a young woman dedicated to expanding opportunities for emerging talent. True to its motto, “Theater of the People,” Al Shams remains committed to making art a shared and inclusive experience for all.
